Michael McHugh, MD is a fellowship-trained hip and knee orthopedic surgeon with more than 7 years of experience. Dr. McHugh has expertise in a wide array of hip and knee surgeries, including: total joint replacement, minimally invasive hip and knee surgery, robotic hip and knee surgery, the treatment of hip dysplasia in adolescents and adults, complex revision surgeries, and hip preservation.

Dr. McHugh  graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Business Management. Dr. McHugh pursued his passion for serving others by attending the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine, becoming  a junior inductee into the AOA honor society. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan, where he was trained by many of the most influential hip and knee surgeons in the country. Dr. McHugh’s devotion led him to pursue a fellowship with OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center adult reconstruction, the most highly regarded program in the nation.

Dr. McHugh is an expert in hip and knee replacement surgery, and has  authored numerous publications and book chapters, and has also lectured nationwide. He remains active in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. 

When not practicing medicine, Dr. McHugh loves spending  time with his wife and four children, whether enjoying the outdoors in Texas or playing sports.
